FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Please take some time to read this FAQ section before applying to the program. If you still have questions that aren’t answered here, feel free to contact our Program Manager: info@sittersforscholars.org

All of our Sitters are thoroughly screened and trained; actually more so than any other online private sitter providers. We require an in-person interview, training from SFS Staff including CPR and First-Aid, and three checked references, before a Sitter is considered ready to be matched with a family.
In short, you can trust that our Sitters are professional, competent, and reliable, because we make sure of it!
-
SFS Staff checks required feedback after every single session. Though our feedback is usually all good, if there is ever negative feedback, SFS Staff immediately contacts both the Parent and the Sitter to resolve any issues.
-
The first step is to fill out an application. Then, our Program Manager-Family Coordinator will be in touch within a couple of business days; to see if you qualify to continue in the process and to see if SFS is a good fit for your family.
If you're not ready to fill out an application, you can always get in touch via email, texting or calling the Family Coordinator for more information/to ask questions. Go to our Contact Us page for info.

In order to get your first session scheduled, SFS needs applicants to go through our enrollment process. This includes short interviews and some paperwork, so if there isn’t a delay with this, the process could take as few as a couple of weeks or less.
Basically, the quicker an applicant is able to respond to SFS Staff outreach, and return their documentation, the quicker we will be able to find you a Sitter and start! Once sessions begin, the work is done for applicants.
